A striking Korean jewelry chest crafted in deep red lacquer and richly decorated with genuine mother-of-pearl inlay. Cranes, birds, butterflies, florals and foliage shimmer across its surface, changing colour as they catch the light.
The chest opens from the centre to reveal four individual red-lined drawers, each embellished with delicate mother-of-pearl butterflies. Ornamental butterfly hinges and a central clasp complete the unusual double-opening design.
Beautifully preserved, with remarkably little evidence of wear.
