Behind the Work
Art has always been part of who I am. Painting, writing, handcrafted pieces, photography, textiles, music—I've never been particularly interested in choosing just one way to create.
I create through the prism of my senses, following curiosity wherever it leads. Sometimes that becomes a painting. Sometimes a story, a piece of jewelry, an object with a history, or something entirely unexpected.
For me, creativity isn't simply about making beautiful things. It's about observing, questioning, remembering, imagining—and creating a life that feels entirely your own.
When It All Began
Thea Marie Guilhauman was introduced to the world of art at an early age through her father, artist Horst Maria Guilhauman, whose creative life shaped the first ten years of her own. Immersed in his studio and philosophy, she grew up learning that art was not simply something one made—it was a way of observing, questioning, and living. Through him she absorbed not only the foundations of artistic practice, but lessons about life, health, and the discipline required to bring ideas into form.
While her father was the central artistic influence, creativity was also present in quieter but equally meaningful ways through her mother, whose natural talent and sensitivity to beauty left their own imprint. Together, these influences nurtured an early understanding that expression can live in many forms-sometimes bold and visible, sometimes subtle and deeply felt.
Working under the name Thea Marie Art, her creative path has unfolded across multiple disciplines over the course of five decades. Though deeply informed by lineage, her work has ultimately become a reflection of her own lived experience - shaped by curiosity, resilience, and a continual desire to explore the emotional and spiritual dimensions of being human.
Today, Thea Marie creates from a place of grounded presence and gratitude, honoring the foundation her father gave her while steadily carving out a voice uniquely her own. In this way, her work both remembers and moves forward-extending a creative legacy while allowing it to evolve through her own life and vision.
As a quiet acknowledgment of that lineage and the path she has forged beyond it, she now signs her work TMG-a mark that carries both inheritance and independence, and the continuation of a creative story still unfolding.

Beyond the Studio
Creativity, for me, has never belonged only to the things I make. It lives in movement, in the kilometres I bike, in music and singing at the top of my lungs, in sitting down at the piano, in the places I explore, and in the little rituals that make an ordinary day feel like my own.
This journal is where all of those pieces come together—the art, the movement, the music, the curiosity, the adventures, and the beautifully ordinary moments in between. A glimpse beyond the work and into the life that inspires it.
